             HOW?

 

Making Time for Yourself:  

Easier said than done, and I can vouch for that.  I always have something to do and at times force myself to do my tasks, when my body and mind are saying no, you need to take some time out. 

 

However saying that this is what I have learnt and what I do my utmost to put into practice, see if you can add some of these things to your life, if you have other things please email and let me know:

 

  • Each month I treat myself to a pedicure and a massage (if these seem like expensive luxuries or out of your budget, look for money off vouchers or view college websites, as they often carry out treatments at discount prices, I mean really discounted!)

  • I make some time for reading, whatever you fancy, which reminds me I have some unopened design magazines that need my attention

  • This is one I am working on, meditation.  For those of you who do it, you know the benefits, a few minutes meditation can leave you with the same benefits of a good sleep

  • Make time for friends, especially those who make you feel good, a quick catch up can make all the difference

  • Do something you enjoy, something that makes you smile

  • Let people know when you need a 'quite time'.  For me this is 15-20 minutes before I go to bed, no television, social media or texting, just quiet.  Read, meditate or here is something radical - do nothing!

  • Make sure your bedroom is calm, for this it will need to be tidy.  Nothing gives you a better sleep than clean fresh sheets! 

  • Do not choose bold, strong colours for bedrooms, unless you use them in small doses.  Strong colours can disturb  your sleep, remember this when decorating baby or children's rooms.  If you do choose to use a strong colour let it be behind the bed 

  • No, is a complete sentence.  Know that you are allowed to say No, if you really do not want to do something

  • Go for a walk, crisp Autumn days are great for this

  • Have fresh flowers in your home, they always make you feel good, but when they are dead do remove them, yuk, the water smells and they look horrible!

REMEMBER YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ALWAYS BEING DOING SOMETHING

ON THE OTHER HAND FOR THOSE WHO PROCRASTINATE, THIS CAN BE EXHAUSTING, TAKE SOME ACTION, THIS WILL MOTIVATE TO TAKE MORE ACTION AND SO THE PROCESS BEGINS!
